Summer’s first long weekend is upon us, bringing with it chances of showers but plenty of entertainment and activities
Together: The Port of Vancouver’s third annual Canada Together, takes place at Canada Place on July 1 from 11am to 6pm. One of the largest July 1 scelebrations outside of Ottawa welcomes everyone to enjoy a day full of free performances and activities, including a citizenship ceremony welcoming new Canadians and local indie rock act, Said the Whale headlining the mainstage at Canada Place.

Salmon: The 77th annual Steveston Salmon Festival, returns on July 1st – “Canada’s biggest little birthday party” takes place across Steveston Village, with the community-wide celebration featuring a parade, live music, performances, food, and much more.

Container: A new downtown shopping and entertainment destination, Junction Public Market, opens June 28 at Granville Square – 200 Granville St., between Waterfront Station and Canada Place – a unique, free marketplace created with customized shipping containers featuring rotating pop-ups, local artisans, food vendors, a bar and a live entertainment space
Debut: Visit Chinatown Storytelling Centre for a look at its latest exhibition Neighbours: From Pender to Hastings a special exhibit celebrating the unique heritage of Hastings Street, its close ties to Chinatown
Gangsters: It’s your last days to catch the all-star cast of the spectacular “Musical Fable of Broadway” Guys and Dolls before it closes June 30th, at The Arts Club Theatre Company Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage.
Rock: Opening tonight, Ring of Fire, lets the music of Johnny Cash to take us on a captivating journey of trials and triumphs, love and redemption at The Arts Club Theater Company Granville Island Stage until August 11th.
Roar: Kick off the weekend as BC Lions play host to Edmonton Elks at BC Place on Thursday June 27th at 7pm
Patio: Vancouver biggest pop-up patio, the 1000-seat Patio at BC Place, opens Friday to Monday from Noon to 8pm at Terry Fox Plaza between Gate A & H at BC Place with food, fun and entertainment all weekend long Free for the whole family
